Jarnail came into print-on-demand from the selling side. He ran his own e-commerce brands through multiple seven-figure years and used outside POD providers to fulfil them, which meant he spent a long time on the receiving end of other people's pricing and other people's quality control.

Neither was good enough. The margin on every order was being eaten by fulfilment, and enough shipments went out wrong that handling the fallout became a job in itself. Eventually the arithmetic stopped working, so he brought production in-house rather than keep paying for someone else's.

That in-house operation grew into US Print Factory. Roughly two million shirts later it prints for other sellers as well, out of two US facilities — Edison, New Jersey and Grand Prairie, Texas — and ships worldwide.

It also explains the company's obsessions. Price, because he knows exactly what an extra dollar a unit does to a store. Quality, because he knows what a bad print does to a review. And plain speaking, because he spent years reading fulfilment copy that turned out not to mean anything.
